Be Light

May 30, 2018

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

The Lord is light and salvation – whom shall I fear?

He is my strength, my fortress, my refuge from the storm.

My salvation.

He called me out of darkness into light.

It’s hard to see in the dark.

God shines His truth light so I can share it with others. Click To Tweet

Light that breaks forth like dawn.

Heals and reveals.

Life saving truth.

What was lost in darkness is restored, found.

Awake, O sleeper and rise from the dead.

Let Christ’s love light shine.

In Him there is no darkness.

No shadow due to change.

Living water, fountain of life, God’s gift.

Life giving light meant to be shared – not hidden or stored or hoarded.

Shared by all who posses it.

My light is how others see light.

A light for the nations.

A witness so others might believe.

It’s a battle, a fight to the finish.

God gives life giving light.

I blink in brightness, attempting to follow.

I stumble and fall, grope and crawl.

Jesus says, “Follow Me”.

Darkness deceives, “Rest your eyes for just a minute. It’s okay, you can always return to the light.”

“The light is too bright, too harsh and demanding.”

“Stay asleep in comfortable darkness.”

“Just this once.”

“You deserve it.”

I dabble in darkness, create calamity.

My feet fumble on twilight mountain.

Dusk quickly turns to deep darkness.

The Heavens separate night from day, light from dark.

When I fall, God helps me rise.

As I sit in darkness, the Lord is with me – He lights the way home.

He takes me by the hand, pleads my cause.

He never leaves or forsakes me.

Night is gone, daylight comes.

I cast off works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Truth.

Righteousness.

Peace.

Faith.

Salvation.

The Word of God is a sword, my light saber – it blasts through darkness and lights the way home.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16-17
