Deep Waters

April 11, 2018

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. Isaiah 43:2 NLT

He is with me in deep waters. Share on X

I feel the river of difficulty rising, flames fanning.

He controls the heat of the fire.

Like a glass artist, God uses difficulties to shape and refine.

He breathes color and beauty into molten orbs.

Gathers independence, pride and rebellion for the furnace.

With care and skill He shapes, rolls and blows.

Trust, faith and love color glass once cloudy.

His refining fire won’t burn or consume me.

It isn’t beyond what I can bear.

A skilled craftsman, God knows what I need.

A puff here, more heating and turning.

Back to the bench for shaping.

In perfect timing, He raps the pipe and breaks away circumstances once so painful.

He never lets me fall or shatter.

He is majesty in mess.

Grace that engulfs.

Love without end.

God promises when faced with oppression’s fire, I will not burn.

The flames won’t consume me.

As I go through deep waters and rivers of difficulty, He is there.

He never lets me drown – He is Lord over all.
