Faithful God

January 17, 2018

I’m the difficult place of now and not yet – I need to know God is active even in my waiting.

The pause is painful.

God, are you there?

Idling in neutral, I wonder if I am forgotten.

Forsaken.

The names of God reveal His character and who He is.

He never fails or falters.

El is the simple form of Elohim – another name used for God in the Bible, showing up about 200 times in the Old Testament.

El HaNe’eman means The Faithful God.

Faithful defined is steadfast in affection or allegiance; firm adherence to promises, given with strong assurance, binding. It means true to facts, something that may be trusted.

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.   Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV

The Lord is faithful in feast and famine.

In plenty and want.

He keeps His covenant of love.

He is with me in painful, uncomfortable places – as I wait desperately for something.

Something to change.

Something to happen.

Something to heal.

God faithfully supplies what I need while I wait in tension and uncertainty.

• For the job to come through.

• The prodigal to come home.

• The relationship restored.

• The sick made well.

I don’t have to cross my fingers and hope.

He doesn’t just show up, He never leaves.

His Name is a promise.

Hope for the hopeless.

Love for the lost.

Grace for the grimy.

There's nothing too far gone He can't heal, restore, make new. Click To Tweet

Trust in His timing.

Take His Hand, the one that never lets go.

I walk through the dark valley but fear no evil for the Lord, my God is with me.

He guides me along right paths.

He upholds with His righteous, right Hand.

He promises hope and a future.

He pays back what locusts ate away.

I may not be in control but I am deeply loved by the One who is and He is faithful.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
