He Fights for You

February 7, 2018

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God Himself will fight for you. Deuteronomy 3:22 NIV

Anxious knots tighten, life presses hard.

I’m caught in a wave, tumbled and tossed, dragged out to sea.

He walks on water, meets me in the mess, holds out Holy Hands.

I choose the spin, dizzy with decisions.

What do I do?

Left, right, up, down – the sea takes no prisoners.

Caught in the current, I go further out to sea.

The current of “it’s up to me”.

The current of “I have to figure it out”.

The current of control.

He fights for me.

The Lord, my God fights for me.

It’s in His Word.

My life is in His Hands – He promises to control any fall.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31

Don’t be afraid.

Be still.

Know He is God.

Trust His truth.

Grasp His grace.

Rest in righteousness.

He fights for me.

He renews my strength.

Gives me wings to soar.

I can trust Him to do what I can’t.

The Lord, my God commands many things but “figure it out” isn’t one of them.

Let go and let God.

As I surrender and pray, He meets me in the midst of mess.

Guides me through the storm.

He is the vine, I am the branch.

Apart from Him, I can do nothing.

Get out of the way and let the Lord work.

My flesh demands action, answers.

I ask everyone but God – “What should I do? The problem is so big.”

I am not a grasshopper.

God gives me victory, helps me take the land, in His time and way.

Sometimes victory is far away, a dot in the distance.

God is always at work.

Trust His timing.

He cooks like a crockpot, not a microwave.

Impossible is His specialty.

He raises dead things to life.

Restores what locusts ate away.

He is redemption and restoration.

He makes all things new.

I need not fear for He is with me.

I can trust the Lord, my God with my circumstances, my relationships, my battle because He fights for me.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NIV
