Welcome to Wednesday’s Words – a short, mid-week devotional to encourage you. I’m kicking off this new addition with one of my favorite verses:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
God doesn’t promise we won’t have difficulty, challenges or problems. In fact, quite the opposite – he assures us we will have trouble.
In my darkest night, my wasteland, God is there. Even as I wander lost in the wilderness feeling alone and scared, He is making a way.
I feel the pain of past hurts and regrets yet my Heavenly Father says, “Forget those former things – I have a new plan, something better.”
No matter what I’m going through, I can trust God is using it to lead me somewhere better.
He is the God of restoration who makes a way through the wilderness and provides living water in the wasteland.
What is your go-to scripture when you need encouragement?

September 27, 2017Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7, NLT
