But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:30-33 NIV
Prepare your heart.
Hope is coming.
I can feel the weight of anticipation for what’s to come.
His cry broke the silence of 400 years.
People thought He would come as a king with an army.
They thought He would rescue them from the Romans and overthrow the government.
Jesus came not in a clap of thunder but a baby’s cry.
He came in the quiet of a stable mixed with dirt and dung.
He came on a rescue mission greater than we could ever imagine.
God often appears in ways I don’t recognize – He tells me to wait in hopeful expectation.
• Expect to see Him.
• Expect an answer.
• Expect the impossible to be made possible.
• Look for Him in unexpected places.
He doesn’t turn away from dirt and dung.
He’s in all the places I think He shouldn’t be.
Jesus’ love is for everyone.
The King is coming – Hope descends from home.
Come let us adore Him.
